International Consulting Expertise
If The World Isn’t Part of Your
Strategic Plan, You’re Behind The Curve
It’s a global economy, and BGI expertise has been assisting our clients – airports, communities, financial institutions and OEMs – for over a quarter century in identifying new opportunities to expand their global outreach.
Over the last decade, Boyd Group International was the first – and only – consulting/research firm to identify the importance of international traffic to US airports and communities. Our Airports:USA® forecasts indicate that by 2020, over 30% of all US enplanements will be directly or indirectly driven by international traffic. This means that communities and businesses that focus on increasing international connectivity will get ahead of the competition. It’s about access – and that is an opportunity for US airports of all sizes.
Unrivaled Global Experience Delivers The Advantage For Our Airport Clients. For more than a quarter century, Boyd Group International has been involved in the global aviation industry. We’ve seen – and often predicted – major shifts in how airlines strategize and operate.
From projects analyzing airport cost and competitive factors at Sydney, to hub analyses in North Africa, to airline development in the Middle East, new airliner market demand and feasibility for OEMs, and participation in aviation planning events in China, these give BGI the expertise to assist airports of all sizes in crafting international programs that are consistent with emerging airline opportunities.
These put us at the forefront of global aviation forecasting and research into emerging trends – fleet demand, airline strategic direction, alliance developments, and traffic demand. (For a look at representative projects, click here.)
International? It’s Part of Our Name For A Reason
Boyd Group International is focused on global aviation. “International” is a foundation of our work. It’s not a suddenly-discovered buzz word. This delivers the expertise to assist our airport, airline, and financial clients in maximizing their opportunities to grow internationally.
For example, our fleet, powerplant, and component forecasts entail research into airline and economic factors within all regions of the world. This gives us an extensive and unrivaled foundation on which to assist in internationally-focused projects for North American clients.
The Leader In Forecasting International Aviation Trends. Boyd Group International was first – more than five years ago – to forecast how the future capabilities of new-generation airliners such as the 787 and A-350 would change US-EU traffic patterns. In particular, BGI was alone in forecasting the interest on the part of international alliances in accessing secondary non-hubsite US airports.
Today, with the entry of British Airways at Austin, Delta/SkyTeam flights to Paris from Raleigh-Durham, as well as interest in such markets from operators such as Norwegian, Icelandic and WOW, suddenly, other consultants are confidently “predicting” this trend. They have a long way to go to match our years of experience and forecast expertise. BGI aviation clients were on board years ago.
BGI “Speaks” International. The US is not the center of the economic world. Our clients are often in other nations, too. Therefore international projects must relate to the specific client, target, or regional objective. You need a consultant that’s globally-aware and globally-involved. That’s BGI.
Unlike other consultants, we understand regional needs and sensitivities. BGI delivers project reports and programs in both English (miles & pounds) and international (kilometers and kilos) metrics. In addition, costs and revenues are expressed in local currencies – Euros, Yen, Ren Min Bi, etc. – as well and US dollars. This greatly facilitates discussions when working with and recruiting non-US carriers.
